Security researchers have discovered a new trojan targeting cryptocurrency traders using trading applications on macOS.

A trojan attack hidden in malware called GMERA is targeting cryptocurrency traders using Apple's macOS trading applications.
Security firm ESET has discovered that the malware has been integrated into cryptocurrency trading applications that look like it is legitimate software.
But behind it is trying to steal users' personal information, especially backing up all information related to a user's cryptocurrency wallet.
If a trader accidentally encounters this virus, the rate of losing cryptocurrencies is quite high.
Network security firm Trend Micro discovered the GMERA malware in September 2019, when it was set as a stock investment application for Mac users.
ESET has discovered that a bad guy has integrated GMERA into a cryptocurrency trading application on macOS named Kattana.
In addition, four other trading applications, Cointrazer, Cupatrade, Licatrade and Trezarus, are also said to be accompanied by the malware Copycat.
According to the report, the GMERA malware will steal information such as usernames, electronic wallets, locations and screenshots taken from users' systems.
This issue has been reported to Apple by ESET.
